Motorhomes Welcome

Vale da Cegonha is located 6 km west of the town of Ourique in the lower Alentejo region of Portugal.

Our GPS co-ordinates are:

37º 40' 19.80" N
8º 17’ 07.03” W

We can offer you a safe place to park with fabulous views, within 20 acres of glorious countryside - yet close enough to the town of Ourique to cater for your everyday needs.

1. We have fresh water available and tank emptying facilities - black and grey waste.
   
2. A small generator, suitable for charging batteries, is available for hire.
   
3. If you require gas (replacement bottles or refillable) please discuss and we will either arrange delivery or advise on availability.
   
4. Hot showers are available on request as well as a 24 hr laundry service.
   
5. Occasional suppers and/or lunchtime barbeques by pre-arrangement.
   
6. No extra charges for trailers, tow cars or awnings etc.
   
7. Pets are welcome.

Facilities In Ourique

On the outskirts of Ourique (our side of the town) there is an excellent supermarket, Pingo Doce. It has a large parking area which can accommodate several motor homes.

Within the town there is also a further parking area available where motor homes can be parked. The town has a good selection of small shops, banks, cash machines, restaurants and cafes, as well as a fuel station, 2 chemists and a health centre, should you need it.

Kindred Spirits

We are former ‘motorhomers’ ourselves. We bought our Hobby 750 in 2003 and enjoyed the freedom of just ‘taking off’ and getting away from it all; often, all that we needed was somewhere to ‘tip out and top up’. We didn’t want or need the facilities of a campsite, which so often offered only a very small pitch and extra charges for our tow car, awning and dogs.

When we moved to Vale da Cegonha in 2006 our Hobby was our home for most of the next 2 years, whilst our cottage and letting houses were being developed.

However, as we have 20 acres of land, we always knew that we wanted to offer parking to fellow motorhomers.  We have the space to accommodate up to 6 vans, lovely views and the facilities needed. So, our invitation to you is to come, relax and enjoy this lovely part of Portugal.

A Helping Hand

Greg is a qualified motor mechanic and electrician. Having spent 2 years living in our van he is well versed in all those niggling problems that can arise and spoil your holiday.

If you need his advice or assistance he is always on hand. If you need him, please ask.
